House on my street...........

WOW, house on my street sold for $380,000.00, was listed for $350,000. same model as mine except there is a pool/spa. My home has far more upgrades inside than this one that sold. My model is only valued at $283-$$310,000. Sorry for the off topic, just wow.

Probably a bidding war if the seller is getting 30g's over list price. Is there's a corner lot (more desirable)?

As being a former appraiser, your "upgrades" mean practically nothing in the world of appraising. It is all based on comps in the area, same year, similar size # beds and baths, garages, if on the water, your view...location, location, location...your interior upgrades do not mean too much, and you add them because "you" like them, not to add much value to the home on an appraisal side. Yes, if you have all marble floors, hurricane windows, construction upgrades, will add some value, but, do not count on recouping the money spent in them when selling. Even putting in a pool never adds a substantial value to your home, only adds interest if someone wants to buy it vs. one without one, or in a neighborhood where everyone has one, you are expected to have one as well, if not will decrease your value. A corner lot is more valuable than a cul de sac, also established trees, larger/ double lot size, if they have a utility shed etc.

I assume that's what the county values your house.

If so isn't that what you want? Then when it comes time to sell, you can use the house down the street as a comparable.

Of course to achieve parity, you could call the assessor, tell him/her about this injustice and pay more taxes to the various entities who already lien your home.

Don't worry too much. The tax man will help you increase the value of your home.
