Service Link issues
I accepted a closing with Service Link and asked the usual questions, fax backs, page count, etc etc, and was told that there were no fax backs. We negotiated my fee and I accepted the closing. I completed the closing and in the package it stated there were fax backs. I emailed the coordinator twice and did not receive a reply, I called and was told that they do not pay for fax backs. I received a call from Service Link and she stated that the schedulers do not know the specifics of the closing, they are just schedulers. I explained that if their job was to "negotiate fees", then they should know the specifics.
My point to this post is that if I ask the details of a closing and am told that there are no fax backs and there are, why should I not get paid for that service? I need to travel back to my office, fax 42 pages, and then drive again to a drop box and not get paid for it? If your schedulers do not know the details to the closing, then why do they have the power to negotiate fees?
The person that called from Service Link was short with me, kept stating that if I didn't want to do fax backs then I should not accept a Bank of America closing with them. I kept explaining that I do not have a problem with fax backs, just have a problem with not getting paid for them !!

I upped my base fee with them to cover fax backs. Works like a charm.

I love Servicelink but like the other 2 notaries said, my base fee included faxbacks. I only have to do faxbacks on BofA and investment properties.

did the same thing plus I included travel. No negotiating needed.

I've gotten the same, but when I got the confirmation was
able to reply back asking for the add'l fax back fee. I've not had any problems with getting my fee on these.
They are a decent company to work for, but you're right in that the schedulers should know the specifics.
The closing coordinators are the ones you want to negotiate any add'l fees with, NOT the scheduler.
And yes, they can be "short" for the sake of keeping it clean here on this forum, but if at least you remain professional, you'll be able to get the add'l fee asked.

Re: I've gotten the same, but when I got the confirmation was
I just filled out another profile application, emailed to vendor billing saying it was an update profile. They wont acknowledge receipt but my fees are stated when called.

Cynthia, when you get the confirmation, IMMEDIATELY,
send them an email saying to redo the closing orders/instructions with the adjusted fee. If they don't, well you're certainly not obligated to do the closing at that point.

I'm still waiting to hear from SL
vendor billing AND a rep I called today - I STILL do not know if my e-invoice went through on 5/23.
I am very disappointed in them. You would think that a company of their size would be more responsive. I'm honestly hoping my check just shows up then I can drop it and never work for them again.
Sign me one and done with SL if this is how they do business.

Sorry for your experience, Linda H/FL.
I had previously given you some contact info on people who have been helpful to me in the past. Guess that hasn't work out. Sorry about that.
Hope this gets cleared up immediately and that you get your check this week!

Re: I'm still waiting to hear from SL
You can find out very easily if it went through. E-Invoice it again. If it accepts it, it didn't go through the first time. If it tells you, it's already been invoiced or paid or has any message in red, under the confirmation number, you'll know to check your mail.

Re: I upped my fees to include fax backs and now I don't
get much business from them. I am at the high end of their pay schedule so all I get now is over flow and there is not much of that lately. I've actually found it easier to fax back the entire file rather than pick through the 50+ pages they want faxed back.

Re: I've gotten the same, but when I got the confirmation was
Linda, once you become familiar with SL's billing methods, you will be paid, usually within two weeks. I know it's frustrating, but well worth it, as far as I'm concerned.
