2-star Rates Mortgage Connect Mandates

Say what? Even my best five-star clients don't ask for my private automobile insurance policy, but if they did ask, I would provide it because they at least pay white collar fees.

Good Evening

As the Consumer Federal Protection Bureau (CFPB) issues regulatory mandates within our industry, Mortgage Connect has recognized the need to make changes in our vendor approval process in order to remain compliant and adhere to our client's policies regarding third party oversight.

Therefore, we have recently made revisions to our Signing Agent package. Mortgage Connect does recognize that your office has already been approved with our office based upon on our previous requirements; however we ask that you provide an updated package to our vendor management department. Please keep in mind you do not need to resubmit any of your information that we already have if it is up to date. The only thing we should really need is a complete page 3 and 4, a photo copy of your car insurance, and an updated W9. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SENT THIS INFORMATION IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS AND TAKEN THE CERTIFICATION PLEASE DISREGARD THIS NOTICE.

It is important that we receive this information from you ASAP. If the executed package is not received, your office will be deactivated until received. As always, we will retain this information with utmost security and will only release it to the lenders as required.

The new set up package has been attached to this email. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. We understand that your time is valuable and appreciate your patience as we update our vendor database with this new material.

Below please find a link to access our online certification test. You must review the Certification Course prior to the Certification Test. Once successfully completed, your new approval process will be completed. We look forward to establishing a strong business relationship with you.

I can't see any reason for someone to have

a copy if your auto insurance. I know companies have given some bizarre reasons. Having worked in the insurance industry you should always protect your policy limits. If anyone provides a copy I suggest you black out your VIN other personal info and your limits.

Re: I can't see any reason for someone to have

Well I don't have a problem giving my insurance information. I had to do it as an IC doing background investigations for the federal govt. I don't give them the full print out. My auto insurance company only provides a statement saying I'm currently insured from period to period and the car that is insured. It doesn't list limits.

Even my wallet sized car is the same. You know the one you carry in your wallet to give to cops. Has my customer number, period I'm insured, who is the policyholder and the car that's insured. No biggie for me.

ToniK- I'll bet you can park that walllet sized car anywhere., You know, the one you carry in your wallet? If the cops wanted you to turn it over to them, they would have to have a good reason. Wink Just kidding couldn't resist. I was cracking up, picturing a cute little car that you can fit in your purse or wallet.

Re: I can't see any reason for someone to have

The biggest point I'm trying to make is that here is a very low rated company asking for proof of insurance from people like me, and I'm sure others, who have never worked for them and never will. There are many other companies in Signing Central with 4 and 5 stars who do not require NSA's to provide insurance. Just wonder who gets to make up these rules as they go along.

In CA, if you're pulled over for a burned out tail light, asked for insurance and you can't provide it, you could end up having your car impounded. That's not something I would be willing to risk. I need to drive for my living, and other activities that require being mobile.

There's also a company out there who wants a copy of

your auto insurance policy - and they require you carry $300,000 liability insurance

Cheryl ~ you've posted you only work with 4 & 5-star cos.

Why do you keep dealing with this one? According to this email, you've sought them out and been approved for their database - including being certified by them and submitting to their previous requirements.

Now, either you want to work with them or you don't.

If you don't want to work with them, block their phone number or send to voice mail (whatever your phone allows) and send their emails to spam or junk folder.

If you want to work with them, quit bashing them and deal with their requirements within the law and your comfort zone.

I know ... I don't have to read your posts if I don't like 'em. You do have some valuable posted info. But, then, there are some that are just plain hmmmmmm. This, of course, is just my opinion.

Re: Cheryl ~ you've posted you only work with 4 & 5-star cos.

I don't think I've ever worked for Mortgage Connect, nor have I registered with them. They have called me, they are in my phone as a low baller so I don't even speak with them.

You of course are entitled to your opinions of me/my posts. I posted this for a reason, and I'm entitled to do so, as a member of this board. It seems to have offended you. I just ignore things I don't care to read. Maybe you should too.
