Awesome offer for new Brother dual-tray HL5470 DWT-Costco
http://tinyurl.com/b7kadcu
New, in the box and out the door for $269.99 plus tax
If it is half as good as the 5370 we have, it is a bargain.

Do you have one?

James, I have a 5370 in our office.
I just got the flyer from Costco this morning.
Yes, I will be buying one. At that price, it cannot hurt to have another dual tray workhorse.

Howard, my concern was how can you recommend something you don't have? When you get it, and it kicks ass let me know because I need a new printer.

James, I have one and it kicks ass. I paid about $50 more for mine when I bought it.

Okay my sister...that's good news. I hear about sooo many problems with brothers products that I was a little leery about them.

Thanks for reporting as a real owner of the printer...I've been meaning to get a new one and I am a Costco member

James, the 5370 DTW was the best printer for doc printing I have ever seen and clearly the best "bang for the buck" for a production printer that I have owned. The 5470 is a machine with rave reviews and the high-volume toner cartridge gets 8,000 pages where the 5370 got only 6,000 from the same cartridge.
I can use some of the same supplies from the 5370 in the 5470.
I read enough to satisfy myself. The advert said "limited supplies" so in between my last post and this one, I ordered it online. Costco's price for this is $70 staples sales prices. Free shipping.

James, it will also do automatic page pulling for letter or legal size paper when used with Windows OS or as we do it here, Windows OS running in emulation mode on Macs using VMware Fusion software.

System requirements
because I'm being lazy, do you know if it is compatible with Vista? I need a new printer more than I need a new computer, but can't afford both right now.

Re: System requirements
Yes it is compatible with Vista. I have 2 of these printers. I run on Vista and Windows 7. I bought the brother 6180dwt in July, dual tray, each tray holds a ream of paper, absolutely love it.

I bought a dual tray printer and thought it printed letter and legal simultaneously, it doesn't,does this printer?
|
Reply by Pro Mobile Notary on 3/7/13 4:07pm Msg #459877
simultaneously, no.
What it will do is switch automatically from letter to legal and back as needed. You need to be using the free Adobe Acrobat Reader and select the "auto page select" check box in the print dialogue box when you go to print.
Again, it works with Windows environment and not the Mac OSX

Brother printers
I love my brother printer, i have an HP Laser Jet as well - but my brother printer will print faster and has less issues with documents/ scans than my HP.

I have this printer and I hate it. It is NOT and never
will be an HP. I miss my HP 4100 so badly. There is just nothing like it.
