FEES
There has obviously been a lot of conversation here recently about fees, and rightly so. I would like to share something amazing that happened to me today!
I offered my $XXX fee to a FASS scheduler today for an upcoming closing. He seemed to indicate that it was not enough to cover the distance I had to travel (said he was looking at Google Maps)!!! I was obviously a bit dumbfounded at first!!! So I upped my fee by $XX and he said he would get approval and call back to confirm. Sure enough, ten minutes later, I go the call!!!
These people have ALWAYS treated me fair and pay quickly, and I have expressed that on here before. This shows me that they appreciate me as a notary and want to continue our relationship.
To that I say, lowball and slow pay hiring parties should TAKE NOTE as to how it should be done!!!

I just had a similar experience. One of my regulars states my base fee was $1xx but I countered with $2xx. Said she had to get it approved and would call me back. 5 mins later, yup they are sending it over. This company treats me well and I'll bend over backwards for them (legally that is).

I had the same thing happen with FASS today. I had renewed my contract with them at the end of last year, with my fees listed (which are higher than their base fees). The scheduler did not hesitate and approved my fee of $xxx and also said that they would be using me more. I used to do a lot of work for them, then they dropped their fees and haven't met my fee, with the exception of maybe 2 in the last year. Hope they have realized that it is good business practice to hire an experienced NSA and get the job done right the first time, even if it costs them more initially. You get what you pay for.

They have a contract?
I have been working for them for 12 years.... When do you renew the contract? What does it say?

That's great! Will take all the positive news we can get these days.
I, too, was not aware they signed contracts. Or are you talking about the White Glove program they have?

Sorry, FASS does not have a contract, it was a title company
but, I am happy to hear from FASS, I do like working with them.
