FYI - Mortgage Connect - Faster Payment

Email received today: If you want to be paid faster and on time, this is what you do. I'm sure that some people won't pay attention and of course they will still post angry/whiney messages about how they didn't get paid. This is effective immediately - I talked to Eric Cork @ MC today and the old way is still acceptable (using the old listing method), but this invoice method makes payment faster for you and easier for their A/P Dept.

"Our [new] process of payment for services rendered requires that vendors submit an invoice to [e-mail address]. In order to receive timely payment, it is advised that the invoice be submitted within 48 hours of the service's completion.
Our payment schedule is as follows:
• Invoices received between the 1st and 15th of any given month will be paid via mailed check on the last business day of that month.
• Invoices received between the 16th and 30th/ 31st of any given month will be paid via mailed check on the 15th of the following month."

Sure - many companies will if YOU let them.

The thing (well a lot of things) that newbies don't understand is that if you LET them lowball you, then they will. I had five companies I had worked for for years, tell me they could get the job done for a lower price, and asked if I would do it at that price. I simply said that I had to decline because I want to be fairly paid for what I do and I know how to run a business. You don't HAVE TO accept their offer. If you don't like a company, tell them to take you off their list. They will. Move on and don't whine about it.

Interestingly enough, out of five that told me that, three are back with me. Why? Because the lower priced so-called "signing agents" didn't have enough sense to pour sand out of a boot with the directions printed on the heel. Constant screw-ups sent three companies back to me and they pay my price. Why? Because when I handle their loans, I know what I'm doing and they know it too. When I see some of the questions/statements posted here I just shake my head - it's very sad.

This Is True

Those companies who low ball will meet your fee if you stand your ground. I'm always saddened when we come on here and speak badly about those notaries who accept the "low ball" offers. We don't know why they're doing it. For me, this is "just an extra job". If a signing doesn't happen, then it's off to reading a good book. I realize that it's not that way for everyone. So I determine my fee, and I stick with it. In the words of a former FLOTUS -- JUST SAY NO.

not saying that they do this, but some lowball SS that run out of signing agents to fill their needs because they stiff them on payments think that if they post messages saying they now pay faster and changed their ways that we will bite and take a risk with them again, only to lose out again. I have worked for mortgage connect before and did not have an issue with them, however, I am just sayin what I have observed from other SS.

Nothing has really changed according to this...now they just want you to send an invoice in within 48 hours.

I guess its hectic to pay someone $1200 invoice when they submit it all one invoice.

So I guess this is why alot of people havent been getting paid on schedule...they seem to be choosing which invoices to pay....shame
