There are a number of issues with the compatibility of Windows 8 and printers that have yet to be resolved. The release of Windows 8 is not predicated on the compatibility but just simply to get the new program out there so people can buy more computers. The drivers for printers and other peripherals has not kept up and thus, the problems. As time goes on, drivers will be updated but until then, there are nothing else but generic drivers that may very well be problems. The computer manufacturers aren't interested in the compatibility of drivers but just want to sell computers. The same thing happened with Windows 7 as well as XP. Unless it's absolutely necesary to buy a Windows 8 computer, I would hold off for a time. If absolutely necessary, as it was with me, I bought a new Windows 7 computer from Dell. Windows 7 support will be around for another 5-6 years so no need to buy Windows 8 till then when all the drivers and other peripherals will be supported.
