Laundry list of fee reductions

So this past week I've been getting emails from signing services about the errors they incur on notaries fault and the fee reductions they have implemented against the notary.

So I thought it would be fun to create our own laundry list of fee increases for errors that are not the notaries fault. Even though they may not pay it. This should be a fun activity.

Late docs-$50+
No call to inform cancellation or reschedule $75 (doctors, dentist charge no show or less than 24 hours cancellation fees)
Meeting irate BO due to issues from lender $50+
Chasing down payment, late payment incur a 10-20% late fee per month
Short a check - late fee percentage accumulates

Lol I like Hughes idea of $1 per page. I've had BofA & Citi include Closing instructions, master closing instructions, specific closing instructions, addendum to closing instruction & escrow instructions to the tune of 100 pgs... Grrr

Full fee for pretending to cancel the signing, just to get rid of me and hire a cheap Notary Public to take my place. Full fee again for sending me later to clean up the mess made by the cheap Notary Public mentioned in the first sentence. Throw in another $50 for my aggrevation and their lying.

Re: Laundry list of fee reductions; Love this, Toni!

Property in a trust and Trust Certification not filled in: + $10 - $20, depending on the form
(I'm seeing more of these actually filled out in advance lately. Yaaaayyy!!)

Preliminary Change of Ownership Reports (one with each Grant - or other - Deed, in CA) not filled in, but notice included that the tc can't do it for liability reasons; but notary's fee to be docked if not completed: anywhere from $20 - to $20K+ (depending on tax consequences)

Incredibly bad grammar in escrow/title docs (or lender's, for that matter), to the point that it's very unclear what they're asking for (e.g. double negative sentence with yes or no response requested): + $5.00 per occurrence.

There must be more, but you folks have come up with a pretty darn good list so far! Smile

Full fee when you arrive at the signing only to discover the

spouse of the borrower you confirmed with speaks NO English. How come nobody knows this already? "It was not a problem last time we refi'd!"

For policing every conceivable scenario that title, lender, SS has overlooked $300.
