Re: Please keep turning away last minute assignments
This business has changed quite a bit since I started doing closings more than 8 years ago. My vehicle is a complete office including wi-fi, scanner/efax and laser printer. I advertise that I specialize in "Last minute closings". Yes, we are all small businesses and can choose not to provide more services than the next competitor. Or you can choose to "stand out from the crowd". The SS you mention is one of the better one's out there and should not be seen in a negative way for trying to send you business. If you don't want it, fine. But don't knock it.

Just curious
If this company is such a great company, why would the offer such a low ball fee for this last minute closing? I would think that if they were as great as you think they are, then why would they put themselves in this kind of last minute situation and then try to lowball a notary who would really really have to hustle to get things printed and get there in 45 miniutes. Please note: I am not knocking the comnpany, just asking questions that I am sure many others would think about asking but preferring not to. That's all.

Re: Just curious
I would consider a severe time limitation to be an extra service, and as such would demand additional fees to compensate for the extra service. In short, don't give it away, since being set up to handle those situations has already cost you money.

Re: Just curious
I have never had an issue with NOW and love working for them. If you do not like last minute closings, just say no. It is not them, it is the title companies, and their title companies do not pay them extra for last minute, so they do not pass it on to you. I have worked with them over 8+ years and have always paid, been fair with me, and work with me. You can say no, why bad mouth them because you expect them to pay more because last minute? If you take it, it is because your not busy and can. Simple.
