Screening Signing Services for INTEGRITY & CREDIT WORTHINESS

There is a great article in XYZ magazine this month about "VETTING" signing services to make sure they are worthy of receiving our personal information in the first place and how to qualify them as solid companies to work for. Imagine these companies not only asking for our SS#s, but being the conduit of borrowers personal information, asset account numbers, etc. and what that could mean to these individuals. I wonder why the title companies aren't more cautious,.

This is where companies we all know too well on this board would fail the test.

If you would like this article to read go to the XYZ site and do a search for "VETTING COMPANIES". It recommends doing a background check, D&B Rating, BBB ratings and checking in with colleagues as we all do on this board.

Just doing a little check on criminal records in the county where a signing service is located could produce some interesting and enlightening results on its owner(s). Happy Hunting! Too bad we can't pull credit and BGCs on them. AND WHERE IS THEIR BACKGROUND CHECK? You see, you can't even get a job once you have an criminal record with ID theft, issues of moral turpitude or online credit theft involving FDIC lender. Not even Taco Bell or Macdonalds will hire you! Can't tender cash with a criminal history, and how do you make it go away? You don't. You have to start your own business and hope to blend and that no one finds out about your dark past.

BTW, I wonder how many of them were pole dancers in a past profession!

D-U-N-S number would be a good place to start

"With a unique nine-digit D-U-N-S number, your business will join over 120 Million businesses already listed in D&B's database. This enables customers, suppliers and lenders to find you and learn about your company."
