Title company kicked back non-notarized Patriot Act

I said notary signs it but does not notarize it. Said they will not record without notarization of the Patriot Act. I notarized it. Loan recorded, everyone happy. Whatever they want.

Did the borrower(s) sign it? If so, i notarize. If not, there is nothing to notarize.

same thing happend to me this week....borrower signs...I certify that I saw his ID. they want me to notarize but the language looked like I was notarizing my own signature with great reluctance I did an aknowledgement as the lender would not accept without signature and there was a rate lock issue.

A Notary on notarizes someone elses signature, never their own.
