Universal Notary Inc.

They called today while I was driving home from Palm springs. someone called me on a phone from the 760 area code. Their website has a Bay area phone number (925), but their address is a pack and mail store in Rancho Mirage. Before, 2013, they had rave reviews. They appear to be a 4 star company. In 2013, they are getting 1-2 stars. They accepted my fee. Yet, I have no confirmation from them. It doesn't sound kosher to me. Any experiences with them?

Joe has always paid me before the 30 days. However; usually no time is set with borrower's, but docs
are normally ready when they call. I recently raised my fee, so I don't get as many calls.
They are almost always purchase closings and need to be back the next day.

Worked with Joe 3-4 times in 2011. He met my $XXX fee and paid within 3 weeks. Then, he sent me an ICA in July 2011. I struck through and amended ICA to reflect my terms. Signed it, returned it with cover letter explaining my changes. Never heard back from him .... Frown

Joe (who had been good to work with as far as SSs go) fired me after a signing where I instructed the borrower to sign name as printed on docs (based on instructions on loan docs and with LO also present) but somebody down the line (title? lender?) decided they wanted his signature to match how he signed his DL - which was radically different than how he signed loan docs (one letter for entire first name plus a middle initial that wasn't even on docs, etc.) I wasn't available to do re-sign; never got paid for first signing (duh) and got fired on top of that. Gool old Universal Joe. Typical SS. Just moved on to the next notary. We've all been there.

P.S.

In all the thousands and thousands of loan signings I've done, I've never encountered anything like that signing snafu!

Re: Universal Notary Inc. - another lowballer!

Well, I have tried to reach this company. They do not return my calls. My best guess is that they found a cheaper notary.
