Yep...my favorite quote from Moneyman/TX

"Don't confuse being busy with making a profit"

Wow! I thought this was someplace to come to help each other out. I havent been doing this long and I am researching and have signed up with companies. I just thought that maybe some companies are bigger than others so they have more volume. Thought maybe I could gain some knowledge from this board not be belittled for asking advice

Aw, c'mon.... Fess up. That's not at all what you asked for. If you read your question again, you were asking for people to give up names of companies that are "keeping you busy right now". In other words, "who are your best clients?". No one in their right mind is going to post that kind of info on this public forum for their competition to go after (and they're not going to send it to you privately, either).

If that's NOT what you meant to ask, then you need to be a little bit more careful about how you word your questions. We may help each other out here from time to time, but that doesn't mean that the folks who have done the hard work of building up a business over time are just going to hand that all over to someone just because they come asking. There are some things you have to do for yourself. You might start with using the "Search" button at the top of the first page of the forum. Nearly every question you can possibly think of has been asked and answered here numerous times - some of them, similar to this one, just within the past few days.

So the info you want is here for the pursuing, for which you should be hugely grateful. And it's an accumulation of many years of combined experience. But it's not going to be handed over to you on a silver platter (although it's amazingly close to that). You just have to look for it. If you're not willing to do even that amount of work, you might as well quit now and save yourself lots of grief, 'cause you're not likely to make it in this business.

U was walking into the FedEx office one day, and one of my competiti0on met me in the Parking Lot. I had about six packages I was dropping on a Saturday.

"So where do you get all your business? You're always just a blur, running around like a roadrunner." Fishing, for my clients.

Now, what do you think I told her Vasquez, the names and telephone numbers of all my bread and butter. Would that have been a wise thing to do?

No, I simply said, "it's all word of mouth. One client leads to another." And that's how it's been for 12 years.

You shouldn't expect that the people on this board who work their butts off are going to hand over their client list to you. Ain't going to happen. You need to do your own marketing. We may seem glib and like a bunch of smartasses. We're just protecting our ASSets. It would be like asking Mrs. Fields for her Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.
