When you have an uneventful week...

When you look at your calendar on Monday and dont have anything scheduled for the week, what do you do to drum up last minute signings?

Take a deep breath! Enjoy the moment...

Catch up on stuff you've been putting off. Call a friend for lunch...put on your marketing cap. Companies are busy closing still from last month's frenzy, loose ends, interspousal deeds, subordination agreements, prior to funding conditions, missing whatever, collecting funds to close. They are busy...don't worry, the snow ball is getting ready to roll down the mountain...enjoy the interlude.

So what part of the month does it usually start to get busy again?

Hard to say, sometimes all month long is like month end. Once it was in the middle of the month then end of month, 30-45 day locks. Now 60 day locks, but with continuing extensions because UWing and appls are so backed up, hard to know. Completely unpredictable. I just get up every morning like I'm going to start out of the chute at 7am and be ready for anything, except this morning. I have a completely zero day so far until 5pm, and that may go to tomorrow. I worked over the weekend, so I'm okay with having a day to myself.

Take advantage of this opportunity to work your business. Market, market, market. And, when you're done marketing to all the new companies you can think of, touch base with your current database.

For instant calls, all you need to do is

1. Get in the shower and wash your hair.
2. Open a can of paint to paint a room.
3. Make plans to go somewhere, buy the tickets.

You'll get calls --guaranteed....works every time.

The first week of the month is always slow.

All the title people are processing the EOM stuff. This is my chance to do all my accounting: what jobs did I do, what checks did I get, and who didn't pay me.

I also notice that I do 1/3 of my work before the 15th, and 2/3rds after the 15th. Don't worry, you will be frantic at the end of this month just like every other month.
