Why you should never beleive a printed journal...
Just wanted to post this because it made me laugh when I saw it. It's a great example of how misleading some of the journals available on the market just are not appropriate to any particular state... or, worse, they print misleading, confusing or even inarticulate information.
I had a notary tell me yesterday, "Well, if bought it as a store in California so as long as I record whatever the journal asks for, then I'm compliant because they wouldn't allow a non-compliant journal to be sold."
Well, here are the "directions" printed inside that particular book, which is sold nationwide. Of particular hilarity is the "special note" at the bottom. Only the County of Los Angeles, huh? Interesting!
And sure, it does say that you need to be aware of the laws in your state (duh)... but it is REALLY poorly written, and inaccurate.

...and I apologize for the spelling/grammar as usual. I'm a terribly typist and have a neurological issue. Sadly, it often manifests itself in my posts.
I really wish we had edit capability here.
All the same, I think the point is obvious... know your local laws... because it helps you know not only *what* to do, but you will know when somebody is giving you incorrect or inaccurate information too.
