Two hours of your time, gas, effort? Charity work, sounds llike. How about $125?

I agree, I just wanted to hear someone else say it.

If you can drive most of the trip at 65 mph, it's kind of low. If you have to drive around 30 mph, its really low.

I would charge $150. They are paying for my time, not
just the notarization(s).

Crazy! I had a similar call today. Over 50 miles EACH WAY for a refi. They offered me $75 and didn't understand why it wasn't enough. Oh, but I didn't even need to print docs. Never heard back after I quoted my fee. Imagine that!

Am I missing something here? It would take TWO HOURS to drive 52 miles round trip (that's 26 miles each way) and notarize 2 pages. That should take at most an hour for travel and notarization. Speed limit here in NH is 55-65 on most highways.

Could be in a rural area where speed limits are reduced. One route near me that takes me to the "metropolis" is 35-45 mph and is only a 2 lane road - no passing lanes either. Takes me about 45 minutes to go 26 miles.

yes it is a rural area with many hills and curves. The girl told me they had already doubled the fee to $50.
