Are you f'ing kidding me? Msg #488786

Msg #488786 How do you make message blue?

I almost fell of my chair just now reading this. It fell so far off the page, I have to move it back up for your reading pleasure this morning. Unbelievable. So this is the mentality of SS's these days, and why we must move away from them. Trying to hard sell a $45 fee for a loan signing.

May I remind you Cory Byrd, of the investment we all make for equipment, materials, our time, what it costs to become and maintain notary commission, growing each and every day, and you're trying to convince yourself and others what an opportunity $45 is? Your blog makes me want to vomit. I wouldn't touch your $45 signing with a 10' pole. What on earth is wrong with your head? You are completely off your track!

You people are incredibly greedy. What do you make on these files? I'll bet it's way more than $90, unless of course you've sold yourself down the river for under $90, but I'm sure that's not the case.

I think I better add some Bailey's to my morning Italian Roast. I simply cannot believe my eyes.

Wow Cory, when was the last time you did a Refi.............

You say, 120 pages, I say, at least 160 if not more. Add another $5-$15 to that figure, E&O insurance, car insurance, car maintenance, and the list goes on......................

I had to pay $3800 in Fed/State taxes for 2012

not to mention car maintenance, car/business/notary insurance, toner, equipment, cell/phone/fax bills, internet bills, electricity to power all this stuff. New printers or maintenance of printers, website maintenance.

But they arent catering to the "entrepreneur" "business" owners. They are catering to the "employee" type notaries.

My SUV did about 32,000 miles in 2012. Jan-May 2013 it did almost 15,000 miles. I was paying almost $600 a month in gas. Traded it in for a smaller sedan and better gas mileage in May 2013 and today I have already done 16,000 miles on the car since buying it. Although my gas expense is cut in half. Sheesh....

Re: I had to pay $3800 in Fed/State taxes for 2012

Wow, I should move to VA...I paid $12,858 in Federal taxes and $4,276 in CA State taxes, local RE taxes $6400, plus office rent, parking, internet, higher than VA MPG petro here, repairs, toner, paper, licenses, fees, subscriptions, marketing, advertising, the beat goes on. My health insurance is $300 a month.

SSC can take their $45 fee and shove it! What a lot of gall! Now I'd be embarrassed by this blog if I called myself a professional signing service company.

Re: I had to pay $3800 in Fed/State taxes for 2012

Another reason for me NOT to move to CA. Sheesh!!!

However, my health insurance is through my ex husband employer sponsored plan. So that saves me about $800 a month (family plan with 4 children). lol

Yea $45 will get you no where but in debt. Better off working at Walmart or even Taco Rico!!!

So much for my 4-5 Star Company theory

I'm just flabbergasted, blown away, spinning and reeling that this Company has the huevos to post such an absurd blog on their website! Just how many notaries out there will work for $45? We'll see. Won't be me!

So much for maintaining 4 stars in SC! Let's see what they get for $45. Selfish, greedy biz owners!

Again, I wanna know what kind of drugs these people are on! I need some of that stuff too.

Unbelievable! I missed that, too, and thanks Cheryl for

pointing it out. It takes real ba#$s to try to convince notaries that our costs are not that high & we can take lowball assignments. I haven't worked for them in a long time & am now very glad that I haven't.

Re: Unbelievable! I missed that, too, and thanks Cheryl for

They have a lot of new notaries in Northern Va area. I know a lot of notaries in my local area who are happy to take the $40-60 signings cuz its volume for them but they are running ragged. I know someone who loves the Nation Direct and Global notary assignments. They work a full time job and do the signings in the evening.

And in a post below that...

He advocates putting together a mobile office on your car - is that with the gobs of money we will be making off the $45 packages??? Yeh, riiiiiight

I have a mobile office....

And let me tell you, running a mobile office is NOT cheap. Nor, by the way, does it help reduce costs. It's convenience for the sake of my clients.

In fact, in many cases, running a mobile office in my car increases my costs per signing. I have a laser printer for my vehicle... but it's not a large, heavy duty dual tray meant for printing large packages quickly. It will print a full package...but it's slower and i have to switch out paper when going from legal to letter. It's time consuming and more expensive. It's convenient, yes... and it has saved my tail on many occasions in an emergency or for last minute calls... but it's MORE expensive. I dunno about others, but I charge a premium for last-minute jobs. it costs me time and money to rearrange my schedule or throw on extra work. While I have a mobile office and can do it... that doesn't mean it reduces my costs.

I think of myself as more of a "boutique" type notary... I can do it all and do just about anything you need... but you pay for the convenience. I'm not a las vegas buffet.

Here's the deal. I am WORTH more than what this freak is advocating by mere fact of the experience I bring to the closing table, not including expenses. The closing experience that I leave with the borrower is priceless. How dare anyone tell me I am only worth a mere $45.00 for my experience if I spend 5 minutes or 5 hours. I am the only one who has the right to come to that conclusion. Do you tell a doctor or lawyer, if you visit their practice, that he is only worth what you think he is worth or any other service business for that matter...I think not!! The old adage is correct...you get what you pay for!!!
