Attn TC's, SS's. NNA and

anyone else who monitors this forum and who is DEMANDING that we have BGC's thru the NNA and as of Nov 1, Sterling. Your demands are getting out of hand! We all have legitimate BGC's - First of all, we wouldn't get our commissions if they weren't done first by our different States and 2ndly, through our own initiative to get such a document. Pretty soon all of your DEMANDS are going to end up with you not have ANY PROFESSIONAL Notaries to work for/with you because of the fraudulant advertising stating that the only BGC that is any good is one by XYZ. Why does XYZ think they are the only ones who produce a CORRECT BGC? And, if you can't get a notary who knows what she/he is doing and you get someone who either doesn't know how to handle a loan package or just doesn't care and makes lots and lots of mistakes, who are you going to get to clean up their mess? We pay good money now as it is to go thru a BGC - why should we pay more to go thru XYZ? It seems really strange that we notaries can perform GNW and other types of notary work without anyone asking us for a BGC, and we handle sensitive documents all the time. It is my suggestion that if you insist that we get one thru XYZ then YOU pay for it. We have a large amount of expenses that we have to cover in order for us to do our job and then you want us to get another BGC and then wait 30, 60, 90 days to get paid (or not) and I will also let you know, just in case you are in the "dark" about this - that the NNA will NOT do a BGC for anyone who is NOT a member of their organization. I have tried it and was told that I needed to be a member to get a BGC from them. HA! That won't happen any time soon - UNLESS YOU PAY FOR IT - I am not going to and I think there are a whole lot of other notaries who won't either.

I am writing this post out of frustration and a common sense point of view of my needs.

I appreciate all the support I am getting from fellow notaries on my posts and keep that support coming as it is making life better for me know these great people are there.

I have too many personal issues at home to worry about XYZ and Sterling BCG. My husband and my 12.5 year old dog both have similar health issues. I have spent too much time in the ER with my husband (one twice on the same night) and these idiots that want me to jump through their hoops to get a loan signing that takes me away from his care does not matter to me at this time!

My dog has diabetes, forms calcium oxalate stones, glaucoma in the existing right eye (his left eye was removed due to glaucoma), cataract in his right eye and is on a special diet. His arthritis is getting worse. He has doggie alzheimers, that is not getting any better. If he is still alive in 1 year, I will be surprised, but I will not let him suffer because of some political issue not of his making.

Right now I believe the famous quote from Gone With the Wind of "frankly my dear I don't give a damn" says it all for me with this political garbage with XYZ and the Sterling BCG issue.

If I sound upset or angry, it is not at any notary on this forum. I just need to step back and let life take where it will take me. Once I know the road I need to follow, I will know when to come back to these notary issues.

Sending good thoughts and prayers to you, your husband and your dog - who I'm sure is a beloved member of the family.

Thank you for providing us with some perspective on priorities and what's really important! I suspect (and hope) that in a year or two from now, most of us will look back on this hubbub and wonder what all the excitement and hysteria was all about...

Sue:

My prayers and hugs for you and your family. That includes your fur-baby -- regardless of how old they are, they're always our puppies.

Monica,

I can tell you from experince that NOT all states do a complete background check on the notaries that they commision. I live in OHIO and I know that they don't do it here. I DO think the BGC's are needed for EVERYONE in this industry REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU DO in this industry.( from notary to president of a title company right on down the line )

As far as XYZ being the be all to end all of BGC's I do think that Harry here at NR is working on getting his BCG's validated to also be accepted by all the major banks & title companies as well. If the notary community would stick behind him on that I think at least they would have a choice then.

Again just my 2 cents.

That's been the exact position that most of us have taken.

I'm not against bgc's. I've always had one. I just won't be forced to join NNA, which is an organization that I have past experience with & don't want any affiliation with.

Ok on BGC

I'm totally on board with the BGC, and while gnashing my teeth I might even get it from NNA. (grrrr)
I've a huge problem with the unnecessary data and access to data that by 'affiliated' parties. There is absolutely no reason why my social security number, driving record, credit record needs to be a part of the information given to ANY lender, TC, Escrow, client, customer, person passing by on the sidewalk.
