Avenues for Stomping out Deadbeat Signing Companies

There are agencies in the State of California who are very interesting in the standards of companies operating within the financial/escrow/title agency.

For those of you who are owed money by defunct signing services, check out this site:

http://www.dbo.ca.gov/

There is also an overseer of escrow companies at the CA state level, among other licensees listed below:

http://www.dbo.ca.gov/Licensees/default.asp

Licensees and Industries Regulated by the Department

Affordable Credit Building Opportunities
Banks
Broker-Dealers and Investment Advisers
Business and Industrial Development Corporations (BIDCO)
California Finance Lenders
California Residential Mortgage Lenders
Capital Access Companies
Check Sellers, Bill Payers and Proraters
Credit Unions
Deferred Deposit Originators (commonly known as “Payday Lenders”)
Escrow Agents/ Escrow Law
Foreign (Other Nation) Banks
Foreign (Other State) Banks
Franchises
Industrial Banks
Local Agency Security Program (LASP)
Money Transmitters
Mortgage Loan Originators
Premium Finance Companies
Securities Depository Law
Trust Companies and Departments

It's long overdue for this NSA community to get organized and petition for change in the character and vetting of signing services and the people who own them.

From a business experience CA State taxing agencies are more of a PITA to people/companies who do not pay their taxes, send 1099's, or W-2's. Their collection efforts are worse than the IRS. As the commercial says "Got Milk", well "got SS who don't pay their notaries, go here." Better yet, when the CA is finished with the companies, the CA taxing agencies turn them over to the IRS.

Thanks Cheryl ( also Sue ) maybe

one of the things we can do is start religiously reporting any failure to provide a 1099 in a reasonable time.

Hope all you unpaid notaries get paid, but the horse is

long gone of the barn and we know how these SS owners have blown their cash, it wasn't on paying their notaries. Fast cars, hot pads, hot boobs, exotic vacation destinations, and other frivolity.

These people have no intention of paying up fair and square! They people are selfish, greedy and despicable. But they do need to be investigated by the appropriate agencies, the ones I mentioned above as well as the county DA's office.

So vetting SS's is important...how to do that: Ask ??? We can no longer take these companies on face value. You might as well understand there is a greater chance of not getting paid these days because of the current economic conditions in the lending industry.

1) Please send me a copy of your business license and your fictitious business name statement. Who is your liability insurance carrier. Yes, I would also like to know your E&O Policy No., carrier, who it insures and for what amount. What is your after hours number and cell phone number. HOW LONG IN BUSINESS? Are you a notary also? Are your employees also notaries? Where do you live?

2) Are all your employees background checked by the NNA? How will my private information be stored in your office, electronically or hard copy, password protected, and kept locked in a safe, secure, locked file storage cabinet or safe. Who will have access to this information?

3) I would like three business and character references from you and who/where is your nearest living relative, address, telephone and mobile phone.

4) All invoices must be paid in 30 days or less, sorry, you're paid in 3-5 days, 45+ days is unacceptable.

5) Where do you bank and who is your banking officer whom you deal with.

6) My contract requires that you must notify me if you move your offices, change your bank account from which notaries are paid, and if you sell your company, I must be notified of all that new owners' names. All above requirements must be adhered to.

7) What is your previous business experience that qualifies you to be a signing service, serving the financial and title/escrow industries?

8) Minor details: Have you ever been incarcerated, used drugs, have a drinking problem, beat up your kids, spouse or mother, or a registered drug or sex offender. Do you dress professionally, are you courteous and honorable?

Sorry, have to know this about you before I can accept orders from you.

We are independent contractors. We cannot allow people to write contracts that are not in our best interest like the one that was posted here for SigningScream Inc.

Folks, you will not believe the number of new signing services that have surfaced in the last 12 months, and four at least are low pay, slow pay, NO PAY companies. We've seen two of them go belly up in the last 90 days. We've got to protect ourselves from these vultures. It's the biggest SCAMMNG of notaries I've ever seen in my Notary Career.

I'm thinking Fed Prison time for inet fraud, wire fraud.....

We all know that the "frivolous" lifestyle & rented luxuries don't sit well w/bankruptcy judges either. Especially when this activity was documented on our favorite social media...

How can we trust that your information is correct?

CHERYL ELLIOTT' s information has been incorrect in my circumstance. So how do we know that she is correct moving forward? 101livescan is been posting information about me that has been 100% inaccurate, all she had to do was google my information to ensure that I was the correct person she was slamming. She never bothered now I have to sue for damages. Why would I ever help her?
