FASS Quality Issues
here are 2 I have received recently....
Comment: Signing agent used a FedEx envelope and not a bag as directed, jeopardizing the borrowers personal information
Comment: Notary used cardboard envelope (FYI FEDEX REUSABLE STURDY PAK BECAUSE THE PACKAGE WAS TOO BIG FOR ANYTHING ELSE) to send in signed package when direction has been set to use a pak
these guys are ridiculous....

Question, Cody: So, if you've already been told to use the Fedex large pak, why do you keep using the (cardboard) envelope? Just curious ..........

Cody: In case you see this first in response to your PM --
You're correct. Instructions to use Fedex large pak is no where in that confirmation. However, please refer to Msg #483359. Appears FASS sent out a mass email in August with this request. If you did not receive it, you may want to fight your defects with the excuse that you were not aware of this requirement. Good luck!

A fellow notary here runs about a 64% with FASS and keeps getting calls. She really screws up to. Her quality control issues are not always minor.

Re: I got the same ding on using a
sturdy pack, I don't recall an instruction to use a bag but will in the future with fass. I did not follow the fees down and so I don't see as much of them as I used to. They seem to be able to find all the $75 notaries they want.

I just had the same thing happen to me. I was unaware of this change. The last email that I received said they would no longer be using fed ex. I prefer UPS over fed ex. Not sure why they said they were changing carriers when they actually didn't

Re: I got the same ding on using a
For what its worth, the (wonderful) manager at my favorite local fedex office always pushes me to use a pak (over a cardboard envelope). She says in her years shes dealt with many a cardboard envelope destroyed by the machines, and has told me that if I put my cardboard envelope in a pak that it is far more likely to survive shipping intact. Although I've never had anything lost/destroyed by Fedex yet (UPS is another story on the other hand) I've started doing this for all my signings after her repeated warnings!
