Good morning, everyone. About Signhereink.

We absolutely performed autopsy on these guys yesterday. I cannot speak for Mark Wills or JJ, but I now understand why they left HVR, why the classes are being held, and why we might consider giving them a chance to demonstrate their commitment to their vendors and the notaries they might ask to perform signings for them, coast to coast.

I've learned more in depth information about their business model and why they started their own SS company. Yes, they are undercapitalized. They are working hard to get it together. I think we've helped them through some missteps, but we've also been a little hard on them, and we need to retract and apologize for some of the assumptions we made about them.

If Signhereink calls me for a job in my area, I'll give them a chance and then make sure I'm paid before I do too much. Mark Wills is the marketing guru, he's the one reaching out to escrow and title to garner their business, which he was doing for HVR for quite a while.

Under the circumstances of his previous company taking assignments and not paying notaries, doesn't this seem like it's worth trying?

To confirm, Michael Edward Shields III is not the same Michael Shields named in the Ameriquest Mortgage Fraud Indictment. When you don't know all the scoop, much is speculation. This is completely my error, I take ownership, and I've apologized to Mike Shields for this misinformation, which spread like wildfire to other misconceptions.

Mike is a new father, his wife, Heather, is a stay at home new mother. Any calls to their home is certainly an invasion of their privacy. Mike has offered up his cell phone on his profile. Call him directly if you want more information. Mike is a full time notary, as well as a mortgage broker for the Bank of Manhattan, a highly reputable lender.

I think we need to give them a chance to show us they can be a trusted company. They have a huge audience and presence in San Diego now that the other company has demonstrated an inability and unwillingness to pay their notaries for several months now.

I will personally contact certain escrow officers I've dealt with in San Diego, who have paid HVR, who has not paid notaries, and endorse these guys.

Hopefully, we have all learned something from this outing of Signherink. I wish them well in a slower business climate we're all experiencing now across the country.

Mike Shields is a creepy guy who called MY home ELEVEN TIMES this morning @ 2:20 AM.
Over and over and over...11 times. Not from his cell phone, but from a Skype number.
Eleven times in 12 minutes. Creepy creepy creepy.

Endorse them if you like...you've certainly been convinced. I am not so convinced.
Lets revisit this in 6 months, OK?

He put his number out here voluntarily yesterday

AND he asked people to call him - so that gives him the right to make 11 calls at 2:20AM to someone? I don't think so .... that's just flat out harassment and stalking.

Had an awful lot of time on his hands yesterday for a new working father and the sole support of a young family with a stay-at-home wife.

Won't give SignHereInk a chance

I for one will not give this new company a chance. I was told back in May that JJ was one of the owners. Those guys have lied to me about payments over and over even admitting they lied because they were told to do so.
Would you as a Notary lie because the SS or TC told you to do so?
HVR claimed not being paid by one of their clients, etc. Well, I checked to see if it was the company I did the work for and it is not them. They paid all the payments due me to HVR and said their legal dept. will be contacting them to find out why I was not paid.
HVR operated as a Ponzi scheme, this new company has admitted that they are under-capitalized. How are they going to pay their overhead and notaries in a timely fashion? Oh, they probably will in the beginning and they probably took the whole client base from HVR, and unless it was sold to them there could be improprieties there. As much as I am not fond of Hector, is it proper to take his base that he spent time building? ...Or could Hector still be involved with SignHereInk albeit, perhaps a silent partner? I am very suspicious..

I agree Betsy. I believe this saying applies here: " Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

They can prove their own track record using someone else. Anyone taking odds on how long this SS will be in business?

If Mike Shields made those calls he should be reported to the police and charges pressed.

I, for one, have absolutely no respect for anyone that does that and will NEVER accept any work from his company.

" Yes, they are undercapitalized"

Only a fool would start a business without sufficient capital. How are they going to pay notaries if they get stiffed by a title company? Because whether they get stiffed or not is not the notary's problem, they went out and completed their part of the contract and should be paid by the SS that hired them.

Sorry….but it’s totally against my business plan to loan my money to someone that may have good intentions, but not much else. Yes they may have worked for some deadbeat company in the past and learned something there, and yes they may have ‘borrowed’ their former employers ideas, website, client list, and other proprietary information, and now want to start their own company, and intend to do it the right way as soon as they get some notaries to work for free, and then use the money belonging to those notaries to capitalize their company. Sorry….but I call these business ethics at least questionable and think they will have to carry on without my help.

agree Les but even moreso, you can't start an honest

business by starting out stealing client list, borrowing ideas, propriety info, etc and it turns out positive. I see nothing ethical about that. There is no "F" in Broccoli.

All your concerns are valid ones

These young men have a lot of explaining to do, what will be will be. No doubt they will always find new notaries who will accept their work, as we know that many people do not follow this forum.

Having been in this business for a very long time, by being honest, forthright, and delivering great service has always been my guiding light and brought me much success.

We're on a much different playing field these days, apparently.

Won't extend credit; but they won't need us

Seems to me that, they may or may not be linked to HVR;
But their rep is totally suspicious, burned many notaries, so now they've placed themselves in a position to "train signing agents".
A new steam of unsuspecting notaries tring to make a living.

Re: Won't extend credit; but they won't need us

Good Morning everyone, I want to personally thank Cheryl (101Livescan) for having to guts to post something positive and of course now she's being attacked. Cheryl that call really meant a lot to me. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to offer me some great advise, and I'm going to take it. I encourage anyone to call me if they think I have anything to do with a signing service, I don't. I would never ever call someone in the middle of the night. This Misty woman, or whom ever she is, has done nothing but harass me. I called her yesterday morning, once, and she first said she was Misty, then lied and said she's just a dispatcher for a taxi company? I highly doubt anyone called this woman, and if they did she should call the police. The police can easily track anyone's phone. Again, I highly doubt her creditability after she told me that she's a cab driver. That's the last that I will ever mention Misty Rogers in my life. I am a full time notary and for those of you that had to backbone to talk with me on the phone I truly thank you. It's a very classy move and I hope to work with you in the future. The respectable notaries always have work, even in a slow market. I'm sure that Cheryl, Sue, and Marian are those types of people. The rest of you, good luck, you'll need it as the market slows and rates go up. I have a feeling you'll spend most of your time in this chat room dogging everything and everyone. I have signings to do, over and out.

Re: Won't extend credit; but they won't need us

All I know is that since you have been posting the last few days it that you are new to the NotRot community and have systematically denigrated and berated just about everyone that posts on this forum. You have done what every "newbie" has done, said hi and then proceed to ask "how can I get business", "who can I sign up with", and "will you provide me a list of your good clients." Then you proceeded to do what every "newbie" does that doesn't like the responses, you called those that responded names and berated them. So you got back what you dished out from some of the members of the forum, big deal. But you continue to berate the community and proclaim that your the one being picked on and bullied. You have been so suspicious about posts being "put downs" of yourself that you thought "n/m" at the end of the post I made had a negative hidden meaning behind it, when it is automatically put there by the website when there is no message. IMHO, start acting professionally and you will probably start getting treated professionally on this forum.

I have known Misty for years on this board and she has no reason to lie about anything, nor do I believe that she has lied about anything. Compared with your unprofessional ranting and name calling since you've been posting, your credibility is less than stellar. BTW, criticism is not a "put down" nor is a difference of opinion.

Wow! So because someone drives a cab and also does notary work you doubt their credibility? (I am assuming you meant credibility.)

Sorry - but your credibility is shot as far as I am concerned.

Well hell Mike

You forgot to mention a few things!
You forgot to mention your screaming diatribe when you called me yesterday, prompotng me to hang up on you, and forward my cell to my dispatcher!
You forgot to mention that you had JJ call to harass me right after you!
You forgot to mention that you called back again later, and called my dispatcher a liar, using a few choice expletives.
And finally, you forgot that, regarding your statement of<<<I highly doubt anyone called this woman>>> that you posted the results of your middle of the night call right here on
Msg #489515
