Me too and my insurance policy more than double
because of the increaseed driving miles. I guess that is why we get paid the big bucks. This year was a different story.

About 14,000. I've driven 15,000 this year, so far, all in connection with signings.

I live in a densely populated area--15 to 20 minutes to most
places (without traffic issues, that is). I average about 15K/yr., and 50-60% of that for business. I don't envy those who have a lot more travel & hope you are compensated accordingly.

Well...let's put it this way....
I bought a new (to me) car in March. It had 10,000 miles on it.
I filled up my tank on Saturday and my odometer now has 28,000 miles on it.
So, in 7 months, I've put 18,000 miles on my car... which is about right. I put about 30 - 35K miles on my car each year. Keep in mind, too, that I live in the middle of a desert and regularly drive to locations 100+ miles away.
My car and I have become very fast friends. I spend a lot of time with her.

I drive a 2012 Civic
Since I drive about 1/2 street and 1/2 freeway and drive like the "little old lady of Pasadena" I usually average about 35 mile per gallon. Each time I buy guy it shows what I am averaging for that particular tank.
I usually put on around 21,000 miles a year.

Re: I drive a 2012 Civic
Mine is a 2012 as well. First car I've purchased in over 13 years. I'm still getting used to all the fancy bells and whistles.

Re: I drive a 2012 Civic
I usually buy a car every 10 years or so. I'm not a car person. But, this Civic I bought strictly for mileage.
My son has it all hooked up for my Garmin, Kindle fire (audible books) and my IP charger; enough wires to chock a horse.
My thoughts are the best car is a car that is paid for!

Fun topic. Here's an interesting link to see your miles
per dollar: http://www.unfocusedbrain.com/projects/miles_per_dollar/
We tend to stick to the familiar MPG, this is another way to look at similar data. Noting that it doesn't address any costs other than fuel, I like to see the differences in my miles per dollar as the prices of gas fluxuate. Mine, today, is 10.26 miles for every buck.
Years ago, there were discussions here about ways to improve our collective MPGs, like if you're in a hot climate, don't dip below half a tank - minimizes evaporation; keep tires properly inflated, and lots else. (I bet I could get even ~more~ miles per $ if I washed my poor little smartie. Don't all cars run better when they're clean?)

Re: Fun topic. Here's an interesting link to see your miles
60K last year. Included roundtrip to San Francisco Sacramento, San Diego, Florence, OR, for fun and family and lots of roundtrips between Ventura and Cambria, the furthest north I traveled last year to conduct signings. This year was way different. Shorter trips, but lots of them from January to June...July to now, much less driving. More time in the yard. I'm starting to like it. My car is refreshing.
Let's see, new brakes, tires all around, alternator, battery, starter and transmission flush. Car runs like a dream. 2007 Honda CRV, like driving a huge queen size pillowtop bed. I like being a little higher than my Honda Civic had me sitting, too near the ground, and my back is not as taxed in the CRV. If I stay at 62 mph, my mileage is much better.
