More on BGCs
Earlier this year, I had my BGC done through NR. Thought it was fine. Just got around to sending it to ULS as per their request. Got an e-mail back this morning with the following statement:
"I have reviewed your criminal background check and unfortunately it does not meet our requirements. Specifically, the “National Criminal Database” is not the same as a Federal Criminal Search. You can reach out to NNA for a background check (please make sure the report is after July 2013, as it now includes the Federal) or use Accurate Background, contact information below."
Not sure what to do now. Really do not want to go through XYZ as I am not getting enough business currently to make the expense worthwhile. Fortunately I do have a part-time job to help pay the bills (no, I do not use my employers supplies for my signings). I do miss doing closings as I enjoyed meeting the people in my area. Hopefully we will still be able to get some business if we don't bow to XYZ.

Don't bow to XYZ, not worth it.

Your statement is interesting about not using your employers office supplies for your closings. Did you really feel that this would be brought up? I had to smile when I read that as I would have never even thought of questioning you on that comment. However, I've posted on here numerous times asking questions or just making simple comments and the attack that you get in return is astonishing. I knew exactly why you made that statement and just felt the need to point it out.

This is all coming down to the effective marketing efforts
of the NNA. It's the only bgc that's going to be accepted by these cos. The catch is that you have to take the Certification first in order to do the bgc. What a crock!

Not true.
You can also get a BGC through Sterling Info Services, of which I did and I was sent the report. The same report was sent to FNF. It's the release form that I have a problem with at this point.

Well, of course, they have to give 2 options--otherwise it's
a monopoly. The push is on for their certification, too. Yes, my major issue is with that release form for FNF. I don't think anyone in their right mind would sign that.

Just had a SS owner email me to say...he's certainly not happy about Fidelity's form...but
there isn't much choice. He says that's because Fidelity is being pushed..by the BIG 5....Wells, City, Chase, BofA and US Bank.
He says he thinks it's only a matter of time and FASS will be on line with it, too....and then
80% of the industry will require it. Sttinks to high heaven
