Payment

I did a signing for Precision Closing Services on Aug. 16th. To date I have not received payment. The last several signings I did for them I had to call many times. I even texted and emailed Tim Stratton to find out when my check was going out. He always responded until recently and is the only contact person for this company. Is this company out of business? Any info would be appreciated.

Precision Closing Services (Tim Stratton)

I accommodated 2 signings for Tim - 12/31/09 & 1/5/10 - and was paid for both on 2/11/10. Granted that was slightly over 30 days. But, didn't have to remind them.

In those days, I would send reminder at 10 days over. Nowadays, that first gentle reminder goes out on the 31st day.

Yvette, you state, "The last several signings I did for them I had to call many times." Personally, that would've been my clue to NOT take any more signings from them.

That being said, I truly sorry you're having to chase your hard-earned money. My suggestion to you is to make a pest of yourself. Call, fax, text, email, snail-mail (certified/rrr). Give them a deadline date to pay you. And document everything. Get your small claims paperwork in order and tell Precision in those communications that if payment is not received by (whatever date you give them), that you will file small claims by the close of business on that date. And, more importantly, follow through.

Good luck!

Re: Precision Closing Services (Tim Stratton)

I just did a signing for him on 9-27-13 through recommendation of a fellow notary.
Hope he didn't just shut down. Too soon for my payment, but will keep an eye out.
I agree with Yoli. Your payment is too far out.

Re: Precision Closing Services (Tim Stratton)

I did 2 in July for Precision and was paid September 10. Not especially timely, but I was paid.

It has been awhile working with Tim

I invoice him with the stipulations of 30 days from signing and if I need to invoice him through paypal an addtional $10 will be added.

Always need to send Paypal invoice and he pays the fee. It has been about 6 months since last job, been to busy in the past to take signings.

Re: It has been awhile working with Tim

Haven't worked for Tim since Feb, but I used to do quite a few for him. Never had a problem.
