This will be the first Thanksgiving in many years
When EOM is not the day or two before the holiday, it falls on the Friday before it. In the past the day before Thanksgiving is always the best day of the year for me. I would be out from 8am till midnight with signings wonder how it will pan out this year. Might be able to enjoy the holiday and be rested.. lol

I've always been very busy that week, day before TG &
black Friday. The last two years I was out of town & spent that time with family instead. I'll probably do the same this year. I'm not as concerned with missing EOM's as I used to be. So far my biz has remained pretty steady, and not as many highs & lows. This area has a lot of VA loans, so we seem to remain busy when others are not.

Lots of hiking, long walks on the beach. My family comes to see me for four days. We have a great time, break out the harmonica, accordion (I've been lugging it around for 60 years), Yamaha keyboard, drums and have a regular music fest up here.
If I get a call to do a signing, I can break away, but honestly I'm so enjoying this lull. Can't wait for the holidays and hopefully some rain soon.

I'm enjoying the lull too. . .
But I am worried about the income. I am getting back to oil painting. Maybe I can work on selling some.

Make music and paint - do all those things that have been set aside because of being so busy. Selling the fruits of our labor should be second nature since we have been so busy selling ourselves in another manner.

This is not my first time away for family, and will not be the last. My days are numbered (in my mind) and I am not giving them up for work when such an important time is upon us. There have already been too many cases of throwing the family over in favor of work, and that is just during the normal course of everyday business.
8 days on the Suwannee River with my little girl and river family - going to be so fun.....and no turkey dinner to cook. In fact, no cooking at all....holiday for sure!
