Time to go Square?
http://www.pcworld.com/article/256416/four_mobile_payment_systems_tested_and_compared.html
Ok, so don't laugh: I didn't know how 'Square' got it's name (duh) - then saw the micro (square) card reader on the smartphone.
Got a call for gnw this morning (wonder if PJ-look would do . . . naugh(t); so much for day off). Caller asked if check ok (said yes).
Time to look at intuit's (same as my web) GoPayment. Square has higher transaction fee of the ones listed in the link . . . But for those who use, pros, cons, stars, headaches, hassles ???

I use Square for GNW and am happy with it. I didn't choose Intuit because of the flat monthly fee plus a transaction fee. I take cash, credit cards, and checks as a last resort.

Yes, time to go Square
I love it....absolutely love it. Sometimes I have to swipe a card twice, but that is my only complaint. That, of course, happens everywhere though, so who cares.
I do wish I could attach to my keychain though or something like that. I usually have my money the next day also (I know that is a big question as well).
I also have a GO Intuit, but it does not work with my phone's otterbox - phone safety wins....

Thanks, Linda....
And my son just came by and gave me a sweet little neoprene pouch that will do the same thing - free! Yea!
But thanks - I know others have expressed the same desire to have it handy at all times. Nice to know he product is there for this purpose.

I keep my stamp locked in a banker's pouch - since I only use Square for notary work I keep it attached to the pouch - works like a charm.

I'd be concerned about the reader falling out of that holder
nothing keeping it secure..

Re: I'd be concerned about the reader falling out of that holder
I just keep mine in the little foam box it came in, inside my notary bag. So I always have it where I'm going to need it. I think I'd be concerned about it getting bounced/bashed around, especially the way my keys, etc. get handled.

I have square - have had it for a while now
and really don't remember why I chose that one over the others (LOL) but I do know it had a lower transaction (per swipe) fee and there's no monthly fee involved - I've never had to use it and have never paid a fee.

You guys are obviously smitten
with Square. GoPayment mthly fee <is> a bit of a deterrent; although it has a low (1.75%) swipe charge and is Quickbooks compatible.
Curious if key-in feature is avail with Square, too (that little reader just doesn't look stable)?

Can you provide a link to that Yoli? Square told me no, I couldn't. I'd love to use that feature for prepayments.

I've been using PayAnywhere as it's fee is only 2.69%, slightly cheaper than the others. They also deposit payments the next day.
But I was just reading this article and it seems there are some other companies that may be even cheaper. I emailed one of them to see if they're interested in my small account just for my iPhone.
