Took the certification test and one question.....

It said something to the effect the when you receive a package for signing and the "seal" is broken you should A,B,C,D..... What seal? In the 10 years now I have been doing this I have yet to see a package with a seal..... Just thought it was an odd question and wondered if back in the day the docs were shipped to the notary and had a seal of some sort.

Some lenders, such as First Republic Bank, UBS, Morgan Stanley, etc. seal the 1003 and perhaps other documents in an envelope to be opened only by the client, they sign and reseal in another envelope.

Curious, what was A,B,C,D options?

Don't remember them all, but there was a. call the hiring party for instructions. B. Put the disorganized papers back together and continue with the signing. I don't recall the other two, but I have never seen this in all the time I have been doing signings.

Re: Quicken sometimes sends docs directly to borrower (OOPS)

UPS box contains a sealed envelope with originals and a copy package binder.
There is seal on the original dox envelope that says something like "Do not open, your
signing agent will open at closing"
