Va SOS reply for standards

Exactly what I expected their response to be when I sent the Code of standards to them for guidance.. As follows:

Our website offers the “official” Virginia Notary Public Handbook. The handbook includes the Code sections related to notaries public and notarizing documents in Virginia. Any other material is not produced by Virginia nor endorsed by our office.

Our office cannot provide legal advice, determine whether or not a notarial act is legal or valid, or determine conflict of interest. You would need to contact an attorney to assist with questions of this nature.

Exactly - because these standards and the Code of

Conduct is aimed more toward loan signings only - has nothing to do with individual state laws.

It's a bill of goods sold to various lenders to create an income stream...nothing more, nothing less.
