Yahoo! Bless its souless, incompetent #@%&#@ heart ...

... has finally gotten around this morning to switching me to its new and "improved" format.

I cannot find any way to access my contacts list to send emails. I have double-clicked on everything in sight. I have right-clicked on the same spots. I have spit on my hands and spun around three times. Nothing works.

Have any other unfortunate Yahoo! victims found a way to add contacts list addresses in the "To" window of an outgoing email? Frustrated people want to know.

Start typing - it should be an auto fill.

Thanks, but that doesn't help if I want to send ...

... to several people on my contacts list. I can find no way, as in the old Yahoo! to click on a contact to add it to the "To" box.

Just keep typing Hugh, separating people by a comma

if it's in your contact list the name and/or address should auto-populate

Re: Just keep typing Hugh, separating people by a comma

Okay, obviously I am not making myself clear.

If I have a 3rd cousin in Belize whom I email only every couple of years, and I want to send out a family blast, and I just don't remember he's part of the family, how am I supposed to remember to start typing his name for the address to autofill? Previously, I could click on a plus sign, and my entire contact list would appear, from which I could click on everyone I wished to send an email, then I'd click "Done" and they all appeared in the address line.

What you're telling me is that I have to begin typing every single contact, and Yahoo! will autofill. That not only sucks, it makes no sense.

Or importing contacts from another Yahoo account

Of course, there's always gmail too Smile

Re: Or importing contacts from another Yahoo account

I haven't LOST my Yahoo! contacts; they are still there, in all their inestimable glory. I just can't access the contacts LIST when I am trying to send an email to multiple addresses. Importing my contacts list from my gmail account wouldn't help; that would simply mean I now have more contacts in Yahoo! that I can't access.

Have any other Yahoo! users had the same problem, and have you found a solution?

open up in a big window, click on those you want and then scroll to bottom of list and click 'Done'.
This should take you back to your e-mail and everyone should show up listed in the 'To' field.

At least, that's how my Yahoo is working 'today'.

Also on far left panel way down the list, there is a "Contacts" folder.

Re: Or importing contacts from another Yahoo account

From the "compose " screen...to the right of the "to " window is a plus sign ( + ).

Select it and a window will come up with "select contacts". Check the boxes then below select
"done".

I was able to put 31 contacts in the "to" window from my contacts.

Make sure you are using ATT.net and Not ATT.com

Hugh, the "To" should be blue. Click on it and contacts

come up.

EUREKA! PRAISE BE TO THE LORD, WHO IS GOOD!

I have found it! It is nigh unto finding Salvation itself, and a Mighty River of Joy has flooded my soul. Let us sing praises to Bill Gates, and Michael Dell, and Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeffrey Bezos and the other Lords of the Cyberworld, for the blessings they have bestowed and the evils they have warded.

Thank you, Lee. Thank you, Linda.

Does this mean I can no longer tell Lee his politics stink like a dead rat on a sidewalk in August? If so, I may want to go back to my foundering ignorance.

Yep, that's exactly what it means... and you stop picking

on 'dumb' Arkies, too. You can't go back to your foundering ignorance because you can't 'unknow' something. LOL Glad to have helped solve your problem because these 'improvements' drive me nuts, too. Hope your surgery goes well and you are soon back to your normal feisty, if misguided, self.

appear for you to chose.

Yeah, I have a Yahoo account I never use. Just accessed it and Linda Juenger is correct.

Click on "compose" ... "to" is blue, click on it (I just single-clicked and it worked) and contacts pop up.

Hope this helps!

Re: Hugh, the "To" should be blue. Click on it and contacts

The other way to do this is to click on the "Contacts" link on the left side of the screen (in the second grouping, below Messenger and Calendar). Check off the ones you want to include in the email and then click the "Email Contacts" button. All those addresses are added to the header, and you're ready to start typing your words of wisdom...

It's probably time to switch to gmail. I still use my

ATT email address (it's powered by Yahoo now). I keep meaning to switch, but it's easier to stay where I am.
Glad everyone was able to help you out. ;-)
