Leftovers from the mortgage meltdown, part 2

Just heard on NPR that in Detroit there are 50,000 dogs running loose in packs - 4 animal control officers, with the 5th recovering from an attack by dog(s?) at a holding kennel. People just moved and left the animals - yet the breeders are still breeding away. So unconscionable.

Based on what I saw on TV the other night, the

owners had no choice - they were forced out of their homes, the shelters were full and wouldn't take them so no choice but to just walk away from them.

Not saying it's right - but it happens.

We need some good ‘political organizers’ to round up these potential voters, and elect a good Democratic (socialist) government that will prevent this crap……You say Detroit Has been Democratic since the 60’s? Well then they’ve done a GREAT job!! I think this is must be Bush’s fault! BTW if you think my response is not work related, you are correct.

Sorry I couldn’t help myself…I love dogs and other pets from birds to horses, and I support my local organizations that help with the care of these unfortunate animals, that had no control or say in their predicament. BUT SOMEONE did! And we Americans better recognize this before we welcome the stray cat or dog, as SUPPER!

Payback would be rounding up all these poor orphaned animals and make Mr. Mazulo feed and groom them, give them a great place to play at his West Coast mansion, and find homes for them.

But they'll probably be euthanized instead. Sad. Our Animal Shelters are full to the brim with dogs abandoned by their owners due to home losses.
