One of two things for tomorrow

Everyone in my area is busy or they are dropping like flies. Calls from good companies I have not heard from in months looking for closers for tomorrow.

Hope everyone is busy tomorrow

I've had one offer so far - via e-mail...

no fee quoted and no info as to type of signing..just location, date and time (7:00pm), which would end up being an 85 mile round trip tomorrow night. I declined - I don't entertain offers where no details or fee are even discussed

Re: I've had one offer so far - via e-mail...

Speaking of fees, why is it that schedulers almost never try to negotiate fees? It would be nice, after I've stated my fee, to know what they were looking for. Maybe a happy medium could have been met. Instead, they call everybody else on the list. Suppose the lowest bidder still wasn't low enough?

One yesterday was different. I was quoted $100 to travel 50 miles one way. I asked for more, which was still less than I've sometimes gotten to go to that town, and just got a "call you back". I didn't expect it would happen and it didn't.

Re: I've had one offer so far - via e-mail...

I always ask: what type of file is it, is their fax backs and how much are you thinking. They most often say "well we usually pay $XX.00 and I say "well I normally charge $XXX.00 with XX.00 for fax backs. They either him-haw and possibly negotiate a little or say they will call back or they agree.

Last night I had one that I thought I would not get a call back from as she said she would see if she could get my fee approved and within minutes (almost before I hung up the phone), I had a confirmation email instead of a call back @ my price.

I try not to sound "SET IN STONE" to them, Which I feel sorta leaves them open to a counter offer if they wished to. If they don't and they don't like my price then I wait for the next phone call....

Re: I've had one offer so far - via e-mail...

I got a request via email a couple of days ago for a signing today. It was a title co. who said their client recommended me - and I had to think who it was. Reviewed my journal, and it was a seller who had dual offices (one in the states) who I signed a couple of months ago. Can't wait to meet him again at the hotel (lobby, that is - and his wife knows)

I LOVE referrals!

Muchas gracias, merci y mas! Since I'm lingering around a hotel tonight, you'd think I'd have some biz cards handy - not!

Time to reorder - Fast. Just got new commission last week. Actually we get to keep our commission no. in VA; so if I could just find the old cards (if I could get motivated), I could just change the comm. exp. date.
