Yes. A compliment and then we'd have someone who actually
knows their stuff there. They could compensate you for improving their reputation.

Nothing wrong with working for the NNA if it means income for you, increasing your reputation with people hiring notaries, and doing the job the way you feel is correct (your way).

That would be an individual choice, but I wouldn't want
my name associated with them. Sorry, but they duped me. I don't trust them.

Re: That would be an individual choice, but I wouldn't want
NNA duped me to as a newbie too. But, my point is how to get information I need or want has changed from those days (it is called creative revenge). As long as I am outsider, I don't get or can't ask for accurate information from an organization without being a member of group (or a stockholder of the company). So, I put my pride aside and get what I want when I need it. Remember pride is one of the seven deadly sins <big smile>.

apparently?... XYZ wants to hire "experienced" notaries...??
"2-3 years as an NNA Certified Signing Agent with 50+ signings"
A whole whopping 50 signings, eh??? Wow! Now we know why so much wrong information is given out by their hotline employees! After 50 signings, I still didn't know squat compared to what I later found out I needed to learn. And I'm still learning new things all the time. I also had done a whole lot more than 50 signings after 2 - 3 years. Sheesh!

Re: apparently?... XYZ wants to hire "experienced" notaries...??
I wondered about that, too... 2-3 years an only 50? that's like doing 1-2 a month, tops. I know there are some notaries like that, only taking random assignments when they become available.
I guess my point here is that I don't think they use to request experienced or even commissioned notaries... in fact, I think it used to be just the opposite.

Re: I would not mind doing this.
Honestly? Neither would I... we all complain about the quality of the information they give out, but do nothing about it. I'm still neutral about them, but I'd like to see more knowledgeable and experienced notaries start to break through and get the message to them. That's the only way things will change.

My thoughts too Marian...
And I wouldn't mind putting my experience to good use - if it helps a notary at the table I wouldn't mind..

Re: My thoughts too Marian...
Agreed... it's not much different than what is done here. I'd far prefer that people who answer their phone know what their doing.
It's not something I'm going to apply for right now... but I found it interesting and can appreciate that they are at least trying to hire hotline staff that know something.

Yes, there is a huge difference…
You couldn’t attack or insult the notary at the table for asking what you consider to be a ‘stupid question’; you couldn’t tell them to use the orange search button; you couldn’t tell them that the topic has already been discussed—go look it up; you couldn’t tell them they shouldn’t have a notary commission without further training; and you can’t tell them to go back to Message #00001 and start reading.
Oh, yeah, the information would need to be state sponsored, not personal opinions.
Yeah, there’s one hell of a difference there…
