UPS Drop

Very unhappy. Why, you ask? Had to make my very 1st drop into the Box on Friday after a late signing. The town's Staples store had UPS pickup - but NOT on Sat. (bother!). The UPS store down the road - no drop.

So find drop at WF bank, closed my eyes, held my breath and slid package in. I know a lot of you live where you have to do this regularly, but trust me, this was slightly traumatic for me. Mainly 'cause there were no pickup times on the box - so I had no way of knowing if the pckg would leave next day or not.

Turns out it didn't (but I was gone whole day Sat and had no other choice). They'll probably call to ask, "Where is it?!" My normal routine is to make sure signing pckg makes Sat drop. Oh, well hope no demerit from TC

'Crossing my fingers' for no demerit for you. UPS drops are

tough on us! For FedEx sometimes I drive to the International Airport to ensure the Next Day Delivery. Big Smile No such option for UPS. Office Depot has extended hours to a certain extent, but docs will not depart until following day for 'Next Day' delivery if dropped there after 3:30 PM or so . . .

Best of luck! Big Smile

FED ex has pulled the drop boxes in many locations. This has become a major issue I have to travel 10 miles for the Staples drop. In one town, before they picked up the box they just pulled the drop time info. If you were not looking one could easily put it in by the way it was located at the US Post office premise.

Re: Almost zero drop boxes are picked up on Saturday-ups or fede

No boxes~ Fed Ex or UPS are picked up on weekends. Have to go to the UPS store or Kinkos / Fed Ex or the main Hub if fortunate to live close to one.
PS...It seems lately all the boxes are broken and show they already picked up, even 10:00 AM! Not sure what the deal is with that, but when you are running close to the time, it can be tricky because you never know for sure. They need to fix them.

Re: Almost zero drop boxes are picked up on Saturday-ups or fede

UPS boxes that say already picked up drive me crazy! I refuse to drop a pkg in them. I questioned a driver I saw making an early pick up and he said an early run is made so processing can get started then the regular pick up is made later. OK. So why not change the pick up alert after the final pick up? Still refuse to drop a pkg in a box that says picked up. I drive to the UPS HUB open till 7:00. Pkgs go straight to the airport. And I get a receipt.

It's good to find the hub and learn their hours.

I am lucky that I live 15 minutes from a UPS hub. I have their office phone number in my phone. I know where the back gates are open and the back door unlocked. I know where the Saturday outgoing pile is (even though they are technically closed), and I know what time the truck leaves. It used to leave at 2:00, but now it leaves at 10:00 am on Saturday. The point is: find out as much as you can so that you can either get it there on time, or tell your people (truthfully) that your UPS does not work on Saturday. Also, I ask my Friday night and Saturday morning jobs if it is imperative that the package goes out over the weekend, and I tell them what I know about the pick up situation. That way, everyone (title, ss, etc.) is already aware that the package might not get there on Monday.
