The problem is not a shortage of test kits, it's an excess of people wanting to get tested.

If the testing centers didn't have the tests available they wouldn't be open, would they? And if they're not open, there wouldn't be a line waiting for tests, right? They would be turned away, wouldn't they?

Each location can only administer so many tests per hour. Say it take 10 minutes from start to finish to administer a test - that's 6 tests per hour. If you had 10 people doing the testing, that's 60 people per hour. How many people do you suppose would be in a line that stretches over 2 miles?
