You think incorrectly on this one.

Rand Paul consistently opposed aid to disaster areas because he thought we were spending too much money. At one point, he says that if you give people relief funds, they'll use them to buy stuff they never had and didn't lose. He wasn't arguing about pork in the bills, he was arguing against the need to provide government funds to help these people.
And then the tornados devastated parts of HIS state, and all of a sudden he found Jesus...
I should note that the senior Senator from his state, Mitch McConnell, didn't share his opinions about other states that were impacted by disasters. |
