"That quote can be applied equally to bothers sides of the equation."
No, actually, it can't. Trump is the one gaslighting America. He says things and then insists that he didn't say them, even though we have video and audio of him saying them. And when he's caught in a lie, he doubles down and adds another lie.
Case in point - the other day, he said that Goggle was building a website for COVID-19 testing and that it was "coming along very well". But nobody in Google management knew what he was talking about. And the media reported that fact, calling out yet another of his lies. Today he went on Twitter and claimed that the "Fake News Media" never even bothered to call Google to verify. But they did - that's how they learned he was lying.
It's just constant gaslighting with this guy - don't believe what you see or hear, believe what I tell you.
The real story: 1700 engineers at Google volunteered to work on such a website if they were needed. About 1000 of them are organizing a project on a volunteer basis, but there is no website currently being built and Google as a company has nothing to do with the project.
But you believed him when he said it was happening, didn't you? |
