Re: Whew! Well chill there Lucky!

I am for the country to unite and quit doing stupid things. The stupidness is what is spiking the COVID. It's not people getting a haircut, it's not us doing closings...it's huge gatherings, drinking, mingling, and not a nationwide mandate of masks if your county has over 100 cases of COVID when out in public. We have to wear a seat belt when driving, you should wear a mask outside or in a public venue.
Findings state that children are at low risk and that it is doing them more harm staying home than going back to school. In FL, we start school on Aug. 11th. They have 3 choices so far. In school, partial school, or at home.
They are still polling and working out the kinks in Florida. They want to follow models of the reopening of schools in 22 European countries that has not led to any significant increase in coronavirus infections among children, parents or staff. What has been emphasized very strongly is that these schools have very highly guarded conditions like smaller groups than in normal classes, usual groups of around 15 and … very close cooperation with health ministries and epidemiological services on a national level to provide schools and teachers and parents with very detailed recommendations on how to deal with the new situation.
Can we do that here? Cut class sizes in half? Pay for these services? Longer days and every other day for kids? 1/2 days and group them in and go longer amount of time?
I don't see older kids back in school, but I do see elementary schools opening up for the lowest risk population in the fall as a start. Only time will tell. School starts in less than a month here.
