Today, she submitted to the House a bill she is calling the "Fire Fauci Act". The bill calls for his salary as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), a position he had held since 1984, to be reduced to $0 until the Senate can confirm a replacement for him.
Greene once again showed her complete lack of knowledge about how our government works. Since she has been stripped of her committee assignments, she has had plenty of time on her hands to learn. She also has a very competent and experienced staff who could have either told her or researched the question for her, if she bothered to ask them about one important fact:
The Director of the NIAID is not a Senate-confirmed position; therefore, the bill would do absolutely nothing.
