I am a notary, but I recognize that I am an extension of your office. That means my role includes delivering defect-free signings that make your clients (lenders and borrowers) feel secure.
I follow the instructions given to me regarding corrections. I'll always reach out to the Loan Officer, attorney or other point-of-contact, if instructed to do so.
If a document is meant to be completed at the time of the signing, you can be certain that it will be, whether it's an affidavit or an in-depth PCOR.
I will take the time to help the signers to understand the documents before them and I will make the necessary phone calls to ensure the document package is executed properly.
I understand the difference that 24 hours can make. A deal should never fall through for something so simple as dropping documents on-time. I know the last pick-up times at my local UPS & FedEx points and my practice is to drop on-time, whenever possible.
I always review every page before leaving a signing, but in the rare instance that an error or omission is made, I will make every attempt to correct the mistake the same day it's brought to my attention. I'll also be proactive in keeping you informed of the status of the correction.
I am depended upon by dozens of signing services and have relationships directly with escrow and title agents who all regard me as a preferred signing agent for their Charlotte signings.
Ultimately, I respect that there is risk inherent in getting to know the notaries you work with. APA's, missed rate-locks and other funding conditions are often the result of an unknowledgeable or distracted notary. These are also situations that your client and your reputation shouldn't have to suffer.
I look forward to working for you.
Warm regards,
Brennan Davis
