I'll guess that some or all counties in CA are unable to record electronic documents. Some states, such as mine (VT) have addressed this by allowing recorders to record a printout of a properly notarized document so long as a notary certifies that the printout is a true copy of the electronic original. Of course, CA doesn't allow its notaries to make true copies in this situation, but many other states do.
So is a county recorder in CA allowed to accept a paper deed that is certified by an out-of-state copy to be a true copy of an electronic deed, where the electronic deed appears to have been properly electronically acknowledged before an out-of-state notary? |
