Notary Bond
A Notary Bond (SFN 19355) in the penal sum of $7,500.00 (seven thousand five hundred dollars) conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties of the office. Such bond may be furnished by a surety or bonding company authorized to do business in North Dakota or by one or more sureties, and is subject to approval by the Secretary of State.
The notary bond protects the public, it is not insurance for the notary. An injured party files a claim against the notary's bond. If collected by the claimant, the bond company collects reimbursement from the notary.
