I have had a few request to see my drivers license. I never once showed my license to anyone.

My answer was that my picture is on my website listed on my business card, and if I wasn't who I say I am, then I wouldn't have your loan documents here for you to sign. Please take a minute and check it out online. They left the room and came back and told me that they are satisfied with my identity, then we proceeded with the closing.

I always explain identity theft prevention and the Patriot Act to the borrowers and they seem satisfied with the requirements to send in their drivers license copy.
