In the last 2 years (August 2014 - August 2016) there have been 2 comments about waiting over 60+ days and non-payment. That is not too bad of a track record for over tens of thousands of signings in the last 2 years.
At least 5 - 10 times a week notaries call our office asking for payment only to find that the check was received and cashed by either a spouse or themselves. Some notaries are bad bookkeepers.
There are many times that we receive checks back and contact the notary that they check was returned and then we forward the "unopened" check in a separate envelope so that they can see exactly when the check was mailed initially.
There was only 1 notary that got back onto this forum and posted that the address on file was incorrect.
A notary was ACH'd payment and went to the site to say that we did not pay. He changed accounts and never notified us of the change, we contacted the old bank (3 way call) just to find out he had a negative balance and they decided to keep his money. But again - we take the hit with a 1 star - not fair.
