Best to wait until both signers are sitting at table.
One time I sat down with the borrower. I had seen that Mr. and Mrs. were on documents. I asked him where Mrs. was he said she died a year ago. You never know.
Sometimes it is just hard to tell. One time I arrived at a signing. I saw Mr. walking his wife in by holding her up as she walked. I thought maybe she was disabled. Turned out she had been at a morning office party and had had too much to drink.
