I can tell you that once I start drinking, there's no way that I should attempt to do any more work that evening....or would even be in the mood to work, for that matter. I would tell the clients that I was sorry but that I was not available that evening. I don't see the need to say that I am "booked up". "Not available" is really all they need to know. After all, we notaries are allowed to have a personal life too, are we not? Especially in the evening or on weekends. I might ask them if it were possible to schedule it for the next day... when I would be available. If not, then they are free to find another notary.
