A lot of the answers to your questions depend on where you're located. For example, Los Angeles city center is much different from the inland empire or some rural area... You got lots of good starting advice here, though. Most importantly, though, is to make sure you know notary basics cold before you notarize anything. You will keep learning for years because, like most things, there's more to this than meets the eye, but you should at least make sure to have the basics down.
And BTW, the ultimate source for questions is the state Notary Handbook (available online) and/or the SOS office. Have that page bookmarked and the SOS in your contact list. [And FWIW, the NNA is a business interested in selling tools, supplies and classes, and many of us don't consider them a reliable source for advice.] |
