He IS running it the way he wishes. Who's going to stop him?

His choices about how he runs his site may drive him out of business some day, but that's his call. So far, there's still value there for some of us and we individually decide whether it's worth it to our particular business model whether to pay what he asks and whether to put up with his perceived idiosyncrasies. He also recognizes that there's value in the different levels of listings in each area, so he's within his rights to have different payment scales. We each have the right to pay or not for whatever level of listing we choose.

That's just how capitalism works. His site is a BUSINESS, not a meritocracy. The valuable number one positions shouldn't simply be awarded based on the score of his test, especially when you consider some of the comments people have had about the validity of those questions from one place to the next. I can't imagine the complaints THAT kind of approach would cause. IMO, even though I'd like to believe that I would be able to get a high position (I haven't yet taken his test), the complaining and outcries with a system like that would be even worse.
