Thanks for posting this, Pegi. I got my flu shot the first week they were available this year. Flu can be contagious before someone is symptomatic, so why take a chance?! As we know, there's no such thing as sick pay in our business...
And while it's important to look after our own health, it doesn't stop there. I believe we should be considerate of the people we're going to be in front of, as well. We never know when we're going to be in the room with someone who may have a compromised immune system. That could be as a result of a previous organ transplant or someone currently undergoing chemotherapy, or a variety of other conditions, all of which are often not detectable and borrowers aren't necessarily going to want to talk about it. For them, avoiding a case of flu could be a matter of life and death. |
