LOL!! Thanks, Michelle! THIS is what I remembered about how the webcam notarization was originally intended when I first read about it. I had assumed that it was intended for situations - primarily for government employees - where the same people were repeatedly having their signatures notarized by the same notary(ies). Over a period of time with that kind of repetition, the webcam notarizing actually made some sense to me. But that's far from the same thing as what's being discussed and proposed by key promoters these days.

I have no idea how this would all work, but I'm wondering if the 3rd party verification is referring to the KBA (Knowledge Based Authentication) we've read about elsewhere. That would make more sense, although I still don't feel comfortable with it and it doesn't address the possibilities of coercion at all.
