We're used to the final hurdle for having a closing be considered successful is having the deed or mortgage being accepted by the official who records those things. Usually it's a county official, but in my state it's the town clerk.
Yesterday our town clerk was reelected, and I was called upon to administer the oath of office so she could continue her duties (including recording deeds). |
